Shouting from the Shelftops #10

Shouting from the Shelftops is a bimonthly(-ish) feature to gush over book news that come to my attention, to celebrate good news amidst whatever the year is delivering to you. The basic mood for these posts is just Enthusiastic Screaming.

Been a while but back with my fangirly self!

Aurora Rising (The Aurora Cycle, #1)Aurora Rising is getting an adaptation!

One of the hyped scifi releases this year, Aurora Rising is getting a TV adaptation from MGM, and though I haven’t read it yet, I am so happy for this news! The last YA scifi TV series I liked was The 100, so I am optimistic about this one!

We Unleash the Merciless Storm (We Set the Dark on Fire. #2)We Set the Dark on Fire sequel has a cover!

We Set the Dark on Fire (We Set the Dark on Fire, #1)We Unleash the Merciless Storm, the sequel to We Set the Dark on Fire, has a glorious (and matching) cover! Also, this book is going to be from Carmen’s POV!

There is another Maggie Stiefvater novel in the works!

So there has only been this tidbit of information so far, but it seems there’s another Stiefvater project called #twinnovel, and the only other information about it is a music post tagged with that tag, which had the lyrics

Rip it out when it hurts you,
And you won’t feel at all,
But I will feel it all,
So here we are.

aaaah, what does it mean???? what is the genre? so far, I can only get Angst!

#TheLuminaries is giving me life!

So, Susan Dennard is having a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure style event going on about one of her story projects, The Luminaries. It started just two weeks ago, and I am so invested in it! What’s it about, you ask? She has broken down the major plot points of the story into tweets, with each major decision left to the fans in a poll (one poll per day) – so basically we all are directing the story. Obviously, it is going incredibly well, with us barely escaping death a couple of times, and now there’s like a whole thing where there’s a separate #UghJay, #TeamPetty, #TeamPractical and aesthetics photosets and fanart and even t-shirts!

And then there’s everyone’s reaction posts, and a whole lot of interaction going on between fans. It is quite fun, and honestly, just get on it! In case you are wondering what the story about, it is an urban fantasy about seven families of demon hunters, one for each day of the week.

Start with this tweet:

Which news got you the most excited?!
