Book Blogger Hop: November 20-26

Book Blogger Hop was created by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and is currently hosted by Coffee Addicted Writer. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.

This week’s question is:

What is your favorite social media and why?

I don’t really use many these days – I broke away from Facebook years ago, and my Instagram is currently a barren landscape. I have always considered Tumblr my favorite, simply because even in the worst of my moods, I can cheer myself up (or at least, distract myself) by going on Tumblr. The fact that I mostly have control over my dashboard, which isn’t possible with Twitter since quite a while (if someone you follow even likes a post, it comes up on your feed, plus the algorithm sucks even for chronological feeds!), that it is a chronological feed makes me prefer it vastly over another form of social media.

Gotta say that for me in the beginning it was Facebook that introduce me to social media. It was my first exposure and afterwards tumblr became my obsession even though it was a bit baffling to navigate through its fresh blog like platform and tags. Then Twitter resurfaced which to this day I still don’t comprehend how its fully function. So what options are left for me? The answer became Instagram. I became highly indoctrinated to its aesthetics and different users for me to follow and fallen in love with their photos and videos. Heck, I met most of my online friends thanks to it and I learnt of so many new book authors and upcoming books featured in different account stories and posts!
