Stacking the Shelves is a weekly haul meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews & Reading Reality. It is about sharing enthusiasm for the new books added to our shelves – be it physical, ebooks, galleys or borrowed from the library.
A large portion of my shelves additions are, well, galleys and I thought of starting with this meme this year to account for all the new galleys I get. Also, maybe it will help me curb my galley requesting a bit? Who knows?
Got myself Unravel Me for the Shatter Me readalong, and The Long Game so that I can finish the Fixer duology. Hopefully I will read both this month.
Moving on to the review copies from
Netgalley
Chaotic Good by Whitney Gardner
Though I had sworn off contemporary for the immediate future, “cosplay, comic shops, and college applications collide in this illustrated novel” had me interested. It’s about a girl who goes She’s the Man at a comic book store.
Aerie by Jon Keys
A fantasy novel about war between tribes of shifters and containing queer characters.
Edelweiss
Endless Water, Starless Sky by Rosamund Hodge
The sequel in the Bright Fire, Cold Smoke duology which I waiting so long for! For those who don’t know, it’s a retelling of Romeo and Juliet, but much more violent. I will probably have to reread the first to refresh my memory, though.
Jacked Up by Erica Sage
It a debut novel about a kid stuck at Jesus camp, where the confession box in which he places his darkest secret gets stolen.
Summer of Salt by Katrina Leno
A fabulistic novel about a girl who waits for her inherited magical gift to show up.
Eden Conquered by Joelle Charbonneau
The sequel in the Dividing Eden duology, which is a Cain-Abel retelling about two siblings fighting for the throne.
The Looking Glass by Janet McNally
A girl looks for her missing older sister in this “Black Swan meets Sarah Dessen” novel.
Now You See Her
A thriller about two girls who switch bodies after an accident.
If Only by Jennifer Gilmore
A YA novel about a teen mom, and her teen daughter, from two different times and two different perspectives
The Truth Lies Here by Lindsey Klingele
I only had to see “Netflix’s Stranger Things meets Men in Black in the first stand-alone young adult novel” to immediately be interested in this galley.
So, that’s this week – 10 new galleys, and 2 book added to my shelves. I also showed some restraint when requesting this week, as I took my existing galleys into account and did not request many new ones.
What new books have you acquired? Any of these you are excited for?
Chaotic Good by Whitney Gardner looks very interesting! I hope you enjoy it!
