Book Blogger Hop was created by Jennifer @ Crazy-For-Books in March 2010 and is currently hosted by Coffee Addicted Writer. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.
This week’s question is:
What book or series can you see getting made into a movie and not being horribly re-written?
At this point, I’ve been burned enough to know no such thing exists. Even a nearly perfect work of fiction will be altered to fit a studio’s idea of what the fans want; they never really think, you know what let’s just make what is there. There are very few adaptations so far that truly are good and true to original stories.
There’s been a lot of Narnia Chronicles adaptions throughout the ages but I certainly believe that no matter how it will be address it can be a good franchise people can use for their benefit. It has appeal to every demographic, kids, young adolescence and adult alike with its fantastical elements, familial dynamic, and its historical setting value at the time C . S. Lewis wrote it the first book in the series. Plus if the adaption decided to go with magnitude of creative liberties it wouldn’t be much of an issue so long they remain faithful to the source material as evidence shown with Disney’s The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe’s film.
