Hello everyone, Spira here, how are you all doing? 😀
I have a different type of post planned for you all today. I have been pondering ever since the start of the new year what are going to be my goals. 2020 has been big for me for a lot of terms that I won’t be sharing at the moment but be sure that you’d be formally informed once it’s revealed ❤
I spotted this lovely little tag at my friend’s Sarah Blog and thought quite lengthily about my TBR for the upcoming year. So here I am, sharing my upcoming plans 🙂
How many books are you planning on reading in 2021?
In 2020 I’ve set my goal originally to 100 but then I’ve reached my initial goal and decided why not challenge myself and do more. I’d reset the challenge by then to 300. However, due to the crisis that soon befell everyone, including me, for some time I didn’t have the encouragement to read, and ended up reading 271 which didn’t disappoint me or anything; in fact it was the most incredible year of reading for me. I’ve completed so many reads I never had the opportunity to do before. Thankfully, I’ve decided this year to take a step back and focus on a more personal journey and beat my physical TBR that is spreading like wild weeds everywhere in my room. I EVEN MADE A GOOGLE DOC TO ENSURE THAT I COMPLETE THIS LITTLE CHALLENGE. Let’s see if I can complete 83 books 😀
Name five books you didn’t get to read in 2020 but want to make a priority in 2021?
I had so many books I planned on doing in 2020 but due to constraints both in time, my big vacation traveling New Zealand, Australia and San Francisco with my dad, and trying to keep my job, I’d had to suddenly abandon many of my pre-planned reads. However, since we got a new year to rectify past events then I set some of my big 5 books in a list.
The Crow Rider by Kalyn Josephson
Dark Skies by Danielle L. Jensen
The Dark Vault By V. E. Schwab
The Last Magician by Lisa Maxwell
The City of Brass by S.A. Chakraborty
Name a genre you want to read more of in 2021?
Probably contemporary. I don’t think I give it enough of a chance due to my skepticism. In fact if I’m going to it’s mostly going to be LGBTQ+.
Three non-book related goals for 2021:
* I want to finish some of the video games I started in 2020 and didn’t bothered to reach to their proper endings. Especially Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy XV which are big time consuming JRPGs as it is ^.^’
* I wish the gym would re-open and I could go back and exercise and let go of all the frustrations that been eating away at my heart every since we’ve been in a lockdown. But then again, my situation isn’t as bad as other people. I should be grateful with what I currently can do.
* I want to confess to more of my family members about my sexuality but I’m still numbed to act upon that desire… I hope I’d gather enough courage and take a leap of faith and do it!
What’s a book you’ve had forever that you still need to read?
It’s quite funny but the one book in my entire collection that I’ve never read was bought back in 2013. If I recall it was Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor. And you know what ironic? In 2019 my aunt bought for me Strange the Dreamer which was my first read from Laini Taylor. What a odd turn of events…
One word that you hope 2021 will be?
Luminary ❤
