Shouting from the Shelftops is a bimonthly(-ish) feature to gush over book news that come to my attention, to celebrate good news amidst whatever the year is delivering to you. The basic mood for these posts is just Enthusiastic Screaming™.
Book adaptations, finales and new books oh my!
There’s going to be a Gentlemen’s Guide to Vice and Virtue adaptation!
Pro: We get to see Monty and Percy on screen, and it is from HBO so you know it will get a nice budget!
Con: It is being produced by the same guy who did Riverdale
There’s going to be a My Lady Jane adaptation!
I can’t scream enough over this – it is one of my favorite comedies! And it might become a TV series! Like, can you imagine???? Period costumes! Shapeshifting! Horse puns! *screams*
The title for the third book in the Empirium Trilogy has been announced!
With Kingsbane ending on a cliffhanger, any new about the finale is a balm to my soul. And the title for the third book has been revealed – its Lightbringer! No word on publication date yet, only that it will be in fall 2020.
Which is quite a way off, but then Legrand also said that there will be some sweet sweet extra content, and my heart here is wishing for a novella
The third book in The Celestial Trilogy has a title!
Sangu Mandanna had an impromptu Twitter contest to have readers guess the name of the book (I had guessed A World of Starless Skies) and the title turned out to be A War of Swallowed Stars. With the celestial beast that was released in the end of the last book, that title seems so obvious now I can’t believe I didn’t guess it right away!
Silvia Moreno-Garcia is writing a thriller!
I had liked her NA novel Gods of Jade and Shadow, and I’m already excited for her February 2020 release (also a thriller), Untamed Shore, so you can imagine the squeal I let out when I saw she has another adult thriller coming out in June 2020, called Mexican Gothic! It is “a story about an isolated mansion in 1950s Mexico — and the brave socialite drawn to its treacherous secrets”
Which news made you scream?!
