Shouting from the Shelftops is a bimonthly(-ish) feature to gush over book news that come to my attention, to celebrate good news amidst whatever the year is delivering to you. The basic mood for these posts is just Enthusiastic Screaming™.
Could anyone miss this amazing news that dropped recently:
The third book in the Montague Siblings!
After Monty’s and Felicity’s adventures in The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue and The Lady’s Guide to Petticoats and Piracy, we now get an adventure regarding their baby brother (who is now all grown up) Adrian Montague in The Nobleman’s Guide to Scandal and Shipwrecks “as he desperately seeks the now adult Monty and Felicity—the older siblings he never knew he had“!
Like the queer historical fiction anthology, All Out, this one will have queer stories, but set in contemporary setting. “the book will feature LGBTQIA+ characters in modern times, written by LGBTQIA+ authors. Contributors include Eliot Schrefer, CB Lee, Mark Oshiro, Kosoko Jackson, Hilary Monahan, among many others. The book is scheduled for spring 2020“
I am so excited for this OMG! Also look at the details on that cover!

The cover artist is Alison Reimold, and may I say – that is a stunning cover filled with details even in its monochromatic tone!
The third Poppy War novel has a title!
Livia Blackburne is writing a Mulan book!
Okay, the book deal has just been announced in Publisher’s Weekly so the book is a long way off (*sob*) – fall 2021! It is the “second book in The Queen’s Council, a YA historical fantasy series that reimagines the Disney Princesses as rulers coming into power, aided by a mysterious force that weaves between their individual stories. Blackburne will twist the story of Mulan: named Empress of a people who do not want her, forbidden from marrying the man she loves, and facing a potential coup, she brings mysticism to the battlefield to fight for her right to rule.”
