Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Vol. 10 by Koyoharu Gotouge
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Tanjiro sets out on the path of the Demon Slayer to save his sister and avenge his family!
In Taisho-era Japan, Tanjiro Kamado is a kindhearted boy who makes a living selling charcoal. But his peaceful life is shattered when a demon slaughters his entire family. His little sister Nezuko is the only survivor, but she has been transformed into a demon herself! Tanjiro sets out on a dangerous journey to find a way to return his sister to normal and destroy the demon who ruined his life.
Despite some comic misunderstandings that almost blow their cover, Tanjiro, Inosuke and Zenitsu smoke out Daki, a demon that has been devouring the residents of the entertainment district for years. The Hashira Tengen Uzui and his ninja companions engage Daki, but if they cannot handle her, will Tanjiro and his friends be able to take on one of Kibutsuji’s Upper-Ranked demons by themselves?
Warnings: body horror, graphic violence
This volume was a non-stop battle as the Hashira Tengen, Tanjiro, his friends, and Nezuko all try to defeat the demon Daki, who is proving to be quite a challenge. In a fight ranging across the entertainment district, they have to stop a demon who is extra-ordinarily motivated, and has another card up her sleeve as she can’t be easily beheaded or even killed by beheading. Still, most determined demon goes to Nezuko who kinda gives it her all, so much that she pretty much goes feral, and even Tanjiro has to step in to restrain her. Tanjiro, too, pushes himself to the limits of his breathing techniques. The fight sequences in this book were amazing, with constant motion and, yeah, cool moves; I can hardly wait to see how it all ends.
