Stacking the Shelves is a weekly haul meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews & Reading Reality. It is about sharing enthusiasm for the new books added to our shelves – be it physical, ebooks, galleys or borrowed from the library.
Most of my adds this week were direct to Goodreads shelves!
Edelweiss
All the Stars and Teeth by Adalyn Grace
The cover drew me in instantly, and then the fact that it has mermaids sealed the deal. The main character (who is not a mermaid!) wants to be the highest magician of her kingdom, but things go wrong and she has to seek a pirate’s help to get her throne.
SEQUELS
okay, lets just agree that for manga books, we can definitely judge the book by the cover! I saw this on my Goodreads feed when someone had reviewed it, and was interested. Its about a girl who loves photography and clings to it in times of grief.
Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman
I added this mainly for the Banned Books readathon, but I had seen it often enough on my Scribd that I thought I might read it someday. Its a ‘hidden secret second world’ urban fantasy set in London.
Witches of Ash & Ruin by E Latimer
Queer witchy stories are an insta-add for me, let me tell you first. Its set in Ireland and has a bisexual witch teaming up with her rival (i guess?) to defeat a serial killer who targets witches.
The Night Tiger by Yangsze Choo
I just finished The Ghost Bride this week, so obviously I had to go out seeking for more Choo books! This one, too, explores Chinese superstitions during a colonial time period.

11 new books shelved this week!
What new books have you added to your shelves? Any of these you excited for?
