Stacking The Shelves #69

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly haul meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews & Reading Reality. It is about sharing enthusiasm for the new books added to our shelves – be it physical, ebooks, galleys or borrowed from the library.

Loads from Edelweiss this week, and I also got galleys for previous additions – Full Disclosure, Diamond City and Bone Crier’s War

Safe HarbourSafe Harbour by Christina Kilbourne

A homeless teen has to navigate living on the streets when the contact she has been waiting on from the father stops, and she has to face a frosty fall.

If These Wings Could FlyIf These Wings Could Fly by Kyrie McCauley

Hints of magical realism in a story about domestic violence.

Frozen BeautyFrozen Beauty by Lexa Hillyer

Okay initially I thought Hillyer is writing another fairytale retelling and my heart jumped, but this is actually a contemporary mystery novel.

Infinity Son (Specters, #1)Infinity Son by Adam Silvera

Adam Silvera had an upcoming urban fantasy novel and I didn’t even know about it! OMG! The series is in an alternate universe, a gritty, fast-paced adventure about two brothers caught up in a magical war generations in the making“. Also I am screaming at that marvelous phoenix on the cover!

Goodbye from NowhereGoodbye from Nowhere by Sara Zarr

A teen finds out his parents have been keeping a secret from him, and pretending everything is alright. Now having to keep the secret himself, he is boxed in with no outlet to talk except for his cousin.

Seven Deadly ShadowsSeven Deadly Shadows by Courtney Alameda & Valynne E. Maetani

You betcha it caught my eye solely from the torii on the cover because I am all for Japanese mythology! Supposedly, it’s a retelling of Akira Kurosawa’s Seven Samurai, and has a girl who can see yokai seeking the help of shinigami to defeat the demon king before he rises.

Just BreatheJust Breathe by Cammie McGovern

A teen with depression and a teen with cystic fibrosis find an unlikely friendship, that develops into something different.

Redemption PrepRedemption Prep by Samuel Miller

Twin Peaks meets Riverdale in this twisty atmospheric mystery from the critically acclaimed author of A Lite Too Bright, Samuel Miller, about the search for a missing girl at an elite prep school.

Shelved on Goodreads

This Is How You Lose the Time WarThis is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar & Max Gladstone

Two femme-coded rival time agents, in a war to determine the future, having a romance? Buddy this gave me ars Paradoxica feels!

9 new books shelved this week!

What new books have you added to your shelves? Any of these you excited for?
