Shouting from the Shelftops #6

Shouting from the Shelftops is a bimonthly feature to gush over book news that come to my attention, to celebrate good news amidst whatever the year is delivering to you. The basic mood for these posts is just Enthusiastic Screaming.

It has been a rough couple of weeks for me on a personal level, which is why the little pockets of good news in Booklandia have been my light. I must admit, though, that I haven’t been online as much so I may have missed some other awesome news but as of now, this is what has me excited! So,

Can you believe there’s going to be a Nevernight web series adaptation?!

Piera Forde, a vlogger, is adapting the Nevernight novel into a 10-part web series, and while she says its going to be a minimalistic adaptation (as the duration of the film will be too short to go over everything) I am still interested in seeing her portray Mia Corvere. I had first heard of her when she cosplayed as Lila Bard, so I am all for her in the role of stabby girls 😀

Also, S A Chakraborty is writing a new series and I already love it!

It has pirates, a heist, and a fabled treasure? Give it to me nowwwwwww (While we are at it, I would like the final Daevabad book, too, please?!)

And Melissa Marr is returning to Wicked Lovely with a full novel OMG!

Okay there aren’t many details – there is going to be an Irial short story in an upcoming short story collection and THEN the novel – but honestly I will clutch it and scream because it is one of my fave urban fantasy series! Also perhaps one of the earliest diverse novels I had read.

Meanwhile there’s the short story:

Since this fortnight has been blessed with some stunning cover reveals,

Can we have some CoverLove?

The Guinevere DeceptionThe Guinevere Deception gets a awesome illustrated cover!

You may recall me being excited in the last post about Kiersten White’s new retelling of the Arthurian legend, and to say I was delighted when the cover was revealed would be an understatement! IT IS GORGEOUS!The mood, the gold accents, the underlight – it lends to a nice dark and mysterious atmosphere

And you should also check out the cover artist’s other work  – it is beautiful and I have a new fave.

Scavenge the Stars has a delightful cover!

Speaking of another cover with a dark and moody theme, Tara Sim’s new duology Scavenge the Stars also revealed its cover this last week, and I am so here for this revengeful protagonist! (In case you did not know, it is a genderbent retelling of The Count of Monte Cristo)

I love the embroidered jacket (?), the knife, and the backlighting, promising some deceit, and waiting until January next year seems too long!

The Infinite NoiseThe Bright Sessions novel has a cover!

Remember when I was ridiculously happy over one of my favorite podcasts, The Bright Sessions, getting novels? Well, I was doubly happy to see it now has a cover and a title (I just found out the title along with this reveal, okay?).

Honestly, the cover is perfect, because it represents Caleb’s empath powers so well (those tiny details aaah!!!!), while also alluding to Adam’s  heightened bond he has with him.

Which news got you the most excited?!
