Stacking The Shelves #23

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly haul meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews & Reading Reality. It is about sharing enthusiasm for the new books added to our shelves – be it physical, ebooks, galleys or borrowed from the library.

With me reading more often now (the silver lining to unemployment?), and upcoming galleys being further into the future, I indulged myself when it came to the review copies in Edelweiss because all of them are releasing in 2019.

Little White LiesLittle White Lies by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

I’ve only read Barnes’ Fixer but the synopsis of this has me interested and her writing is pretty good when it comes to characterization. The story is a little like The Princess Diaries, but with debutante balls and a whole lot of mystery and hidden secrets.

Watch You BurnWatch You Burn by Amanda Searcy

a psychological thriller about a girl who must keep her arsonist ways hidden–or watch her life go up in flames” honestly this had me at psychological thriller – I am WEAK for those!

Umbertouched (Rosemarked, #2)Umbertouched by Livia Blackburne

I had loved Rosemarked a lot, so naturally I was screaming when I was finally approved for its sequel. It was a long wait!

Opposite of AlwaysOpposite of Always by Justin A Reynolds

A love story which follows a boy who falls in love with a girl and repeatedly loops back in time at the moment of her death, returning to the moment they first met. Yeah this is going to be heartbreaking – like they keep falling in love over and over again only for her to die.

Stolen TimeStolen Time by Danielle Rollins

A time-travel fantasy in which a girl from the 1910s stows away on the time machine of a guy in the future who is looking for his mentor.

The Black CoatsThe Black Coats by Colleen Oakes

A girl joins a vigilante group so that she can get revenge for her cousin’s killer, but as the violence escalates, realizes that perhaps they are not as good as she originally thought.

The AntidoteThe Antidote by Shelley Sackier

In a world that abhors magic, and only trusts herbal remedies, a girl has to decide if she’ll expose her magic to save her best friend (who also happens to be the crown prince). Kinda feel like this is giving me Merlin vibes.

The First True ThingThe First True Thing by Claire Needell

A recently sober girl’s best friend (who also has a substance abuse problem) goes missing, and while she initially covers for her, soon she has to gather courage to come out with the truth.

Goodreads TBR

Nyxia Uprising (The Nyxia Triad #3)Nyxia Uprising  by Scott Reintgen

The finale of the Nyxia Triad, and hopefully the Genesis crew getting to go back home.

Come Tumbling Down by Seanan McGuire

Okay this doesn’t even have a synopsis or cover yet, but it is the 5th book in the Wayward Children series and I obviously will have it on my TBR. I hope it is revealed soon which character this one is about.

3 new galleys from Netgalley, 5 from Edelweiss and 2 books added to Goodreads TBR.

What new books have you added to your shelves? Any of these you are excited for?
