In Maggie Stievater’s SHIVER, Grace and Sam found each other. In LINGER, they fought to be together. Now, in FOREVER, the stakes are even higher than before. Wolves are being hunted. Lives are being threatened. And love is harder and harder to hold on to as death comes closing in.
For a finale, this book packed a massive punch. There were so many story lines going on, so much things to be tied up that I was really worried how it will all end up. Grace shifted, and Sam is lost without her. Cole is waking up from his despair and coming to the world of the living. Isabel makes important decisions for herself. All of them reveal the true meaning of family and love. The wolves are going to be exterminated and they all have to figure out a permanent solution. It was breath-taking, this book, from the start to the finish. The writing was markedly in a more elaborative way compared to Shiver, and I enjoyed it immensely. The ending was left open-ended, which for a change, didn’t annoy me as it left possibilities open and yet, tied up so many threads. It was a good conclusion to the series.
