Top Ten Tuesday: Books I’ve Recently Added To My TBR

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish wherein each week bloggers list out their Top Ten. This week we discuss the new books on our ever-lengthening TBR. If you are like me, you probably use Goodreads to keep track of potential books you are interested in, and they may languish there for years, but the important point is to keep them there so that you don’t miss out on reading it some time in the future. My TBR is currently 2k strong 😦 , but that still can’t dissuade me from adding these interesting books to it!

P.S. For simplicity’s sake, I haven’t included books that are untitled as of now.

This Is Our StoryThis is Our Story by Ashley Elston

Heroine is a legal intern investigating a murder case involving four teenage boys. Hmmm, sounds interesting. And perhaps a little different from detective-like stories?

Blank 133x176Waste of Space by Gina Damico

(Un)Real story of teens being shot up in space. Since it is written by Damico, I expect it will be a hilarious ride.

The Sword of Shannara (The Original Shannara Trilogy #1)The Sword of Shannara by Terry Brooks

Okay, this is mostly because of the show but who doesn’t love to delve in a long epic fantasy series?

Carved in Flesh (Supernatural, #12)
Carved in Flesh by Tim Waggoner

Been a while since I have read any of the Supernatural tie-in books. They are mostly hit-or-miss, as the author for each one change. But I keeps my hopes up anyway.

Firstlife (Everlife, #1)Firstlife by Gena Showalter

Gena Showalter’s new YA series is about afterlife? Count me in! Although, I should read her Alice in Zombieland series soon, and maybe even complete the Lords of the Underworld (not YA) series too?

Masquerade (Micah Grey, #3)Masquerade by Laura Lam

This steampunk fantasy series is pretty interesting and I have yet to read the extra material that the author has written, but am so excited for this third one.

The Magicians (The Magicians, #1)The Magicians by Lev Grossman

I got to know of this through the upcoming show, of course, and seriously I am interested in this Harry Potter: College Edition book. Also, it has dark and wicked tones!

The Zodiac Legacy: The Dragon's Return (Zodiac, #2)The Dragon’s Return by Stan Lee and Stuart Moore

Sequel to The Zodiac Legacy, which is an illustrated fantasy book about warrior teenagers awakened from the zodiac. The first one was pretty interesting so of course I am invested in the sequel.

The City of the LostCity of the Lost by Kelley Armstrong

This is not YA, but it’s a thriller written by Kelley Armstrong, so I am interested.

Front Lines (Soldier Girl, #1)Front Lines by Michael Grant

His writing is crazy good when it comes to characters, and this one is about girl soldiers in WWII.

  1. I just heard that Sword of Shannara is going to be a TV show, so I might have to pick up the books too before watching the TV series. You have some other books on your list, which is amazing by the way, that I am also looking forward to reading. I really have to read Front Lines as soon as I can get my hands on it.

    • I get that. But as they always say – don’t judge a book by its movie/show! 😉

Honestly, though, that long TBR is the reason I’ve stopped taking up long series unless I’m fairly motivated
