My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This spin-off sequel series is set about at least two years after the events at Anteiku. Sasaki Haise is half-ghoul investigator in charge of the Quinx squad, a group of other half-ghouls like him who voluntarily underwent a reformed procedure to implant the kakuhou into them. First off, Sasaki bears a lot of resemblance to our tragic hero Kaneki, (yeah, I already got the spoilers through Tumblr, so I wasn’t really shocked) and his personality is more doormat-ish than Kaneki. He isn’t in complete control of his squad, as Urie, who is the leader of the squad, doesn’t give him enough respect. However, once they come face to face with a ghoul called Serpent, and Sasaki lets out his kagune, everyone in his squad is shocked.
